11 month old Senegal Parrot - 3 year old SI Eclectus
I was setting at the computer with Mac on my shoulder. His playstand is in the same room as my computer. I kept hearing this knocking sound coming from the window directly behind my computer table. I opened the blinds and what did I see? A 6 foot Black snake was on top of my work bench which is under the carport directly outside the window.

The snake was hitting his nose against the glass trying to find a way into the house. I think he was smelling the birds. So I went out and located the snake and so I took care of him. I usually don't leave my birds outside unattended. But I want to make sure they are as safe as I can make them.

Eeeeewwwwwwww ! OMG :(. MY HERO !!!!!
I would have fainted if I was in your shoes and opened the blinds , lolol.
I can deal with snakes , off know they are there FIRST , and not by surprise.
I dont do well with those kinds of surprises , AT ALL !

You guys would hate it here, we have black snakes that live in our cold cellar. We actually have one that we will be releasing soon, he wandered into the house after the ground had already froze and we didn't have the heart to throw him out into the cold. He must have only been a month or so old, we've kept him over the winter and fed him well, he's now doubled in size and is soon ready to go back out to the woods :)

O m g !!!!!!!! :11:

I think my heart would have skipped a few beats (or possibly stopped altogether) if I saw a snake that big outside the window!

HOLY COW!!! What kind of snake was it?! I have had two pet snakes but wild snakes give me the willies! You never know what they are like, what they will do, and sometimes whether or not they can kill you!

I had 3 ball pythons & a 6 1/2 ft burmese python. They would frequently get loose so I'd knock on my parents door & say "Mom, all 4 snakes are loose but go back to sleep. I'll find them!"

Relocating the snake would have been more humane. But I have no room to speak since any spider within a mile radius of me must DIE!!!

I love Ball Pythons :). I just get creeped out by the small snakes for some reason.
Especially of I get surprised by one ,lol.
All four ? OMG , your poor Mom ! Lolol. How scary !

When I lived in Maine with my Mom, I once walked into the kitchen barefooted, only to feel something under my foot that shouldn't have been there... A bright green snake! Despite being scared by them, I managed to pick it up and stick it back outside (our basement was dirt, he crept in that way). A 6ft black snake? I'd probably have fainted!!

I think it was a typical garden snake. My neighbor even came over after I took care of the sanke and couldn't believe how big it was. Yes, we have a lot of snakes here in Florida.

OMG... I would have totally freaked out!! I'm so glad we dont have Snakes like that here in the UK :)

snakes don't bother me but i'm paranoid about my fabies safety so i probably would have freaked

my breeder told me he occasionally finds snake pieces at the bottom of his large bird aviaries... if they only knew what they were getting themselves into they would find easier prey...must be fun for the big birds though, a little hunting and killing before breakfast!

I would still be staring at the snake............ OMG
That is scary

Me too !!!!! Lolol OMG is what I would be saying over and over , lolol.
And probably jumping and flapping around like a freak !!
But I would laugh about it later probably :p
