I guess it official....I'm crazy

I just don't understand my friends and family. They have all started looking at me strangely when I just mention one of my fids. They don't even understand calling them fids! They just give me a look of concern. It's just very strange that they aren't excited by my happiness. Do any of you have this happening to hem? My husband said to me this morning, "honey, it's official, your a bird brain". I said thanks and he just shook his head.

lol my friends are used to it, my parents and relatives think I'm too obsessed with my bird. Bird people are weird though, someone without a bird won't understand XD

When my mum comes home from work i show her pictures of Fargo and she says, Tab, every picture you show me is exactly the same!
well i dont think they are! haha
And one of my old friends got really angry at me because i told him Fargo was my best friend.. i was like ok bye

I'm really surprised how weird people seem to think we are. It had been a long time between birds for me and now when I bring up my bird. People actually make fun of me and I'm left thinking WTH. my favorite was someone thought it was weird I volunteered at a bird rescue......because.......yeah I still really don't get that.

Exactly! I just don't get it. I'm the kind of person that is truly interested in what's going on with my friends and family, they however give me that "sad look" whenever I bring up something that my birds did. Why do hey do that? It's like it's a bad thing, how can it possibly be a bad thing? Most of he time I just laugh it off and tell them they just don't get it. On the good side my youngest daughter is a bird person like me and she tells everyone they are weird for not loving the stories. Hahahha

I talk a lot about my budgies and give my mom up to date information. Then she shuns me out, people with no birds will never understand.

Pretty sure half the people I have on facebook or whatever have me hidden/removed me because most of my status updates/pictures are of my pets.

Sorry, but they're cute, smart, entertaining and my children for all intensive purposes and I'm proud of every achievement; be that finally use the litter tray, learn to play dead, get along with other pets etc.

My animals milestones in life are just as important as your childs, sorry!

My folks give me weird looks because I've been thoroughly researching and collecting toys and first-aid equipment in advance. They seem to think birds don't need first aid because wild birds are just fine! -_-
If it were related to uni or house-hunting or insurance, I'd be diligent, but because it's for a bird, it's obsessed.

My family looked at me like I was crazy because i knew what all the birds were at the zoo without looking at the map/leaflet. My husband just kept looking at me stunned saying "How did you know that?" ......."What can I say? I like birds." LOL
