Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(
And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
....making my first batch of birdy muffin's
I saw a post on the cockatiel sub forum that a member posted of making muffins..sooooo...I had to do some grocery shopping anywho, and got goodies..
DANG!! Whoever said feeding the kids wasn't expensive need's to have his/her head smacked with a 2x4
All the goodies were either fresh (fruit/veggies) or 100% organic. I even took the time to read the ingredience
So..here is what I put in these things.
Corn Meal
Pumpkin/Flax seed
Whole Wheat flour
Hemp seed hearts
Chia seed
Brown rice flour
'nana
blue berry's
diced cauli/broc
diced peppers
Ground pellets went in,both Beebs fruity ones and Amy's Roudybush
A VERY small amount of seed (1/4 cup) of Beebs and Amy's. 2 egg's
Add water to moisten, stir thoroughly, and put 'em in muffin papers and bake 300 degree's for 30-40 minutes.
Welllll...I guess I had the rack too high in the oven
The top's got brown/crusty but when I took them out the paper cups just stuck to the bottom's and 1/4 of the muffin was just torn away.
So I got 22 muffin's,broke one up and split it with Amy and BB.
Amy seemed to enjoy and ate a good part of his (turns his beak up at chop now,eats/shreds his basement carpet, and at his emergency bowl more often, don't know what to do now)
BB didn't even try his piece. I will admit,I tried a piece lol and it was darn good! Kinda bland to me though, with zero sugar.
Seeing how everything is organic, can I assume it's GOOD for them and can be given a couple times aweek?
I have plenty of ingredience left for a few more batches and will have to "adjust" the stove next time.
