13yr. old male umbrella cockatoo,
we call him Amigo!

7yr. old Goffin cockatoo, she IS Sassy!!
Amigo came to the front window, to come in, I brought him in and after eating he's taking a nap. I've never seen this. His head is behind his front, tucked under his wing! Is this NORMAL? I've never seen him take this stance. I've seen him tuck his foot up and close his eyes but not this one. I hope he's ok. Maybe just a busy morning?

Safira sleeps with her head behind her and tucked up under her wing. I usually catch her napping like that during the day. It's so cute :)

My birds all sleep like that at least some of the time. Pete is trying to nap right now like that, but Merlin has decided to go on one of her vocal rolls and is waking him.

I bet Amigo sleeps like this at night, I've just never witnessed it. Deep sleep? Now he's out and about terrorizing the neighborhood! Poor woodpeckers...

He probably does sleep like that at night, at least some of the time. If it weren't for my being home all the time now, I probably wouldn't know so much about my birds napping behavior either.
