The dear sweet lady with the four birds has interviewed numerous people and has asked chosen me if I am willing to take them.

I am going Sunday afternoon to visit with them.
They are medicated every other month for their illnesses and are doing quite well. Thus far their blood work is showing the diseases as being inactive. That is fantastic but they are and always will be carriers.

They are as follows:
1. Jenday Conure named Precious - 4 years old
2. Double Yellow Headed Amazon named Paco - 8 years old
3. African Grey named Prince Charming - 4 years old
4. Blue and Gold Macaw named Sugar Foot - 5 years old

I will not take ownership until the 22nd because she wants to complete the medication before they are moved due to the stress of the move and changes for them.

Please wish me well and I will probably be on here asking tons of questions. I will let you know how the visit goes on Sunday.

We go every Sunday and spend about 3 or 4 hours with them. We are hoping that it will help them to not be so stressed out when we move them here. So far they are very accepting of us.
The lady that has them said she could not believe how well they have responded to us.
They are beautiful birds and she and her husband have done such a great job with them.
You would never know they had these diseases just by looking at them.
We will bring them home on the 27th.
I am considering starting a sanctuary for birds that only have one or both of the two diseases.
It is very hard to place birds with these diseases and as long as they can have good quality life, it just breaks my heart to think about any bird being put down.
These birds have had these diseases for 6 years.

Wow great thing you are doing taking in Special Needs birds. Not a lot of people would. I think it is a great idea for the bird sanctuary!
