I am so honoured !!!! In Memory of Jessie

Yesterday I went to visit Barbara and Cecil, (their AG Jessie passes away in February this year).

They are still pining for Jessie, which is expected. Jessie was 19 years old, they became Jessie's guardian's at 6 weeks old.
Barbara took "maternity leave" for 6 months to be with Jessie.
Their home is so quiet without Jessie's presence.

We had a lovely day, walked around the village, so beautiful and peaceful. Visited the newly born ducks, and saw Zebra's and Giraffes.
It was mind blowing (wish I had taken my camera)

After a lovely lunch, they presented me with a gift.

The African Grey Parrot Handbook and The Grey Parrot.

These books are the last "belongings" they had, pertaining to Jessie.

I was so touched, knowing how much it is to part with such precious memories of Jessie.

We all began crying and hugging each other.

The Grey Parrot book was a gift to Barbara and Jessie, from Cecil, for Mother's Day in 1994.

Indeed you can't rely on a library our days lol I went the other day and they had nothing in on amazon parrots no suprize

Libraries are sure outdated, they would never be able to keep up with the internet

It was a privilege Di....... I have know them for over 15 years.

Must mentioned from the footage you sent me (the vid's) of where you now living, their village is very similar to yours.

It actually felt like I was in the Kruger National Park, walking and viewing all the animals.

Barbara and Cecil moved there 6 years ago, it's the first time I actually walked around.

That really must have been difficult to give away such a sentimental item. If I ever lost any of my babies I'd surely find it a struggle to part with anything in regards to them. They must be really fond of you! Congratulations and take good care of them!

Barbara is like a mother to me, everyday she phoned me telling me where jobs are going, who to contact etc, since October last year.

Must mention this, they had a mass said at their home on Monday am.
The priest asked is there any special request anyone is needing.
Barbara said Dear Lord please help my dear friend find a job.
Needless to say I got a job on Friday, starting tomorrow.

Barbara and Cecil are my most treasured friends here in South Africa
