I have a 12 year old umbrella cockatoo that will not quit screaming. There are new people living at my house and I know that is causing it, but my question is, do they have any sprays or vitamins I can put in his water that will help calm his nerves? I know they make calming spray for cats, but what about birds?
Obviously, I can't change our living arrangements at this time and he has been screaming non stop for a week. I realize that he is stressed, but his stress release is causing me and my family members to lose our minds.
Getting rid of him is not an option nor is hurting him, but I have most certainly considered cutting my own head off just so I don't have to hear him scream anymore.
Yes, I have tried the dark blanket around him and that works under normal circumstances, but he has gone out of control and there is no stopping him anymore.
