I went to the grocery store today and picked up a little $12 food processor that blends about 1-1/2 cups. Which is perfect if you’re only making food for one :D. My store has a great organic produce section where I found a bag of these small "sweet" peppers red, yellow, and orange. I thought these would be better then cutting up a giant bell pepper and hoping it keeps. So anyways I just used the processor for Howie's dinner, and it’s a great little thing! I used one whole sweet pepper, frozen corn, frozen peas, sprinkle of shredded carrots, sprig of leafy greens, sprinkle of sprouted mung beans, sprinkle broccoli sprouts, one side of small apple, and then hit blend! Then I added 1/4 of a whole mashed sweet potato to the mix and put it all in the microwave for 1 minute. Then I stirred it all together to make one yummy warm mash. Then... yes there is more ;)I added a few blueberries, 2 sliced grapes, pomegranate arils, and hand mix them into the mash to test the temperature and gently fold the fruit in. All that was left was to get Howie's approval, and he dug right in! I'm just having a great time making Howie's food and loving that he enjoys it too! I took pictures for fun, and I know when I was researching eclectus diet it was hard to find a step by step fresh diet and food preparation so maybe this is helpful to someone out there.

I use the same little sweet peppers from my grocery store and Ezmerelda absolutely loves to eat one whole as a snack. She will hold the whole sweet pepper sometimes and just munch on it from bottom to top. I'm guessing Howie must like the blueberries, but Ezmerelda detests them. She throws them as far as she can like it is a game. BTW, looks yummy!!!

Ya they are a great find! That was my first experiment with Howie and the blueberries. It went well. He ate them all but one he tossed out... Not sure what that was about lol. He does however hate mango always tosses it out. It did look good! It smelled good too!

It looks good enough to eat. what time are you serving . Alison and sweetie pie:D

Very original idea to give us time line of this event in photos. Love those food processors for bird food. Other than chopping tuna fish fine for tuna salad I use it for bird food only. This is nice when you have a big freezer to put some up for the hurry up times.

Great idea... Thank you..

The mashed sweet potato idea came from Mrob. Its a miracle worker, it is a great way to introduce new vegetables and fruits. Howie wouldn't try certain veggies (peas) without the sweet potato. Now he goes straight for the peas.
