Howdy from Texas!

Hi! My name is Laura, and I decided it was about time I registered for the forum since I read posts on here often. I'm a wildlife biologist and a mommy of 2, not including my small zoo! I had birds in the past, and I have been waiting for my children to get a bit older before adding birds to our family again. Well, I made it until my oldest is 2 and my youngest is almost 1... We recently added 3 green cheeks to our family! Two are bonded and not very sociable, and they are a yellowside and pineapple. The third is another pineapple, and he is a sweetheart! I'm enjoying having the conures again. I look forward to actually participating a bit more in the forum instead of just looking in from the outside!

Thank you, everyone! I was out of town for a couple of days, so I just now had a chance to check this thread.

PetoftheDay - I am in Buda, just south of Austin. I think by now it basically is just South Austin.

Spiritbird - At the moment I work in the Deer Breeder Program for Texas Parks & Wildlife. I have also been involved in a lot of bird surveys and endangered species surveys. I originally thought I wanted to be a veterinarian, but I am very happy to have gone the wildlife bio route instead!
