Here she's laying on her keel bone in the palm of my hand.

She falls asleep

She notices I'm taking pics

Great pictures (as usual) Zoe is so adorable :) It's like you can hear "STOOOOPP MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM" on the last one LOL

Lol Karen, how dare you disturb the princess while she's napping? She looks determined to eat the camera in the last pic.

I was having a heck of a time trying to hold her in one hand and take a pic with my phone in the other phone, so since I couldn't pinch and zoom I was trying to get the phone closer to her. She didn't appreciate it.

Karen, I love the last pic. Man, actually I love them all but the last one is like "ROAR I am gunna eat that camera." :)

I've read that birds are related to dinosaurs. She's channelling her inner T-Rex. :D

Is that a cat up the end of the lounge?

Who knew a bird THAT cute could be so crabby? Even angry Zoe is still adorable! And those first too pictures are just cuteness overload.

That's Josie, one of our 2 pound kitties. She's a Siamese mix. We've got a dog crate at the end of the couch and she sleeps on top of it.

Maggie occasionally does lay on her keel bone. Once in awhile, not all the time.

Zoe doesn't do it in her cage, but if we're holding her and she gets sleepy she always does it.

Maggie sometimes lays down on the top of her cage like that. I'm guessing they are just taking a load off their feet?

I put perches on the top outside of her cage, hoping she'd use them but she never really does. I'm a little worried about arthritis later in life, as it is so prevalent. She pretty much lives on her cage top.

Sweepea occasionally just keels over on her side on my lap, but I've never seen her do this, and of course, she plays on her back.

Zoe does the flop over thing too. She always assumes we're going to catch her. She has no fear that she might fall.

Sweepea is the same way. RFMs and BTMs are the only two I know that do that on a regular basis... They are the most flopped over, play on their backs, roll around on your lap birds, and they really do have some of the best temperment of all the macaws. Shy Hyacinths really... (Well, Zoe doesn't appear to by shy. Sweepea can be, unless she is in play mode. In play mode, anyone and everyone is fair game!)

Those two, and greenwings, and Hys are my all time favorites.

I'd like to think I had something to do with her temperament, but the fact is she came that way. My guess is if we don't keep her socialized she'll become shy.

Sweepea has always been on the shy side for a macaw.

My Red Lored Amazon is my "people greeter."

Love the pics, Karen! We all knew Zoe was a ball of mush, but now we know that she can bring it dinosaur style if she needs to! Lol!
