how to tell if they like showers

So a bit of a random question but with my old conure I would often bring him with me for a shower but I have no idea if he enjoyed it or not. He wouldn't run away from it but would just sort of sit still and wouldn't flip his wings open like I see other birds doing. Part of our bonding was he dive bombed into the shower on his first night home.

I would often fill the sink with a bit of water and he would go in sometimes for a splash but often he would sit either on the towel rack looking at me or on the curtain rail just observing me. Sometimes he would jump onto my arm and get closer to the shower head letting some drops hit him but he never seemed excited about it, he just sort of let it happen

Syd hates being sprayed. I have tried a very light spray upwards so it falls lightly on him from above like rain and he looks really worried and tries to hide. He will happily stand on my hand by the slow running tap (faucet) and drink but anything else and he beats a retreat.

I have now found a bath which fits into the side of the cage where there is a door for an extra food bowl and he dives in from one side right under the water, wings at full stretch, and comes out dripping with a cheeky look on his face. I have found that he will bath more than once a day usually so once he has had a dip I change the water in case he wants another go later. That he seems to really enjoy.

LOL I take back my previous post! Today after showing Syd the slowly running tap again he had his little drink as he has done for some time, then cocked his head, looked at me, and then plunged under it. We have spent the last 10 minutes with him on my hand darting in and out of the stream and when I cupped my hands under it he had a proper bath.

He stopped every now and then and looked to me as if for encouragement, but he looked delighted with his new game. WOW!

For my bird this is how it is;
hate it = trying to escape, scream etc
tolerate it = just stand there
like it = wings open, tail wagging moving in and out
love it = head back, eyes half closed
