Hello all-
I am working on adopting an African grey, who has cage aggression. The rescue just does not have enough time to work with their birds one on one, and the grey they have has a lot of potential, and I learned this only after being with him for about an hour.
He will allow for head scratches, but will not step up and tries to bite when in his cage. He flew out of his cage and once he was out of it, he was a different bird; stepped up, didn't try to bite.
My question is, while working with him, how can I get him to not be cage aggressive? I'm guessing the daily interaction I would give him is the first step, but is there any other tricks to help with cage aggression?
Thanks
