Conner, a yellow sided conure. And Skeet, a budgie.
My three month old conure has been to the vet twice. Once for a general new pet check up, and once because I thought he was limping. Both times the vet said he had a clean bill of health. However, I'm wondering why he's so skinny. He's been checked by vet for parasites, he is fed pellets that I buy at vets office zupreem, fruits and veggies daily, anything I eat that he will ( he's extremely picky), sunflower seeds as a treat, millet as a treat, full choice pellets of course, fresh water... Am I doing something wrong. How can I get him to gain some weight. Oh, he gets missing link powder daily over food because the vet prescribed it. Any suggestions would be great, thank u! :p

you can offer lots of fruits and veggies, plus nuts are high in fat, but aren't very healthy so only offer them occasionally. Plain oatmeal cooked in water is high in carbs which might help him gain weight Purchase a scale and weigh him. every week to monitor his weight gain or loss. if he is loosing weight, see your vet again. He might just be a petite bird and be naturally smaller. My cats are all siblings and all but one of them are huge! The other one is super tiny, and no matter how much she eats, she remains much smaller than the others. good luck!
