Green Cheeked Conure called JellyBean
Hi everyone,

I was making a fuss of JellyBean this morning, and was wondering how tactile are other birds??

JellyBean absolutely loves head scratches, he will let me preen his feathers on his head; then close his eyes as he gets an overall head scratch! Then I turn him over onto his back as I tickle his tummy. Finally, a good under the wing rub is required!! I really enjoy this with him - scratching, tickling - and the usual kisses on his tummy!!

What do others do????

Sounds great.

I love to rub Percy with my lips, he loves this too, bit touchy atm as still quite pinny! Best bit about rubbing gently with lips, I get big sniffs of delicious birdyness - mmm I love the sniff of birds especially me boy! : )))))

yup, mine does the same - he would crawl into my palm to get petted, and he loves under wing scratches. :) he also gently nips me when I pet him. I taught him to lay on his back in my palm, and he seems to enjoy that too. But he does it only when HE wants! LOL :D He recently started giving me kisses too. what a sweetheart! :)

Chopper loves/hates his belly rubs...same with the wingpit rubs too...hilarious as he loves it but "protests" at the same time.

Ultimate combo? Belly and beak rub at the same time...they go into ecstasy!

My conure is very tactile, but won't do belly rubs or go on his back unless we're under the covers in bed. He won't show his belly in public lol! I wish more people had that quality!
