How old is...

Kiwi is about 20, also not old for an amazon.

My moms DYH is at least 45, more likely now in her late 40's or early 50's and possibly older! She was wild caught as a sexually mature adult, so her age is anyone's guess. Still strong and healthy!

Thanks for sharing! Obviously we see A LOT more young birds, largely in part because parrot ownership took off over the last few decades.

I am curious what the future will hold for older parrots in homes.

Kelly my Yellow Naped Amazon is 36yrs old. Adopted him 4 years ago he is older than me. Pretty sure on the age since the family was pretty blunt when surrendering him.

Folger the Bare eyed is at least 18 years old from what we tracked of his history/many homes but is probably older. He could be older than Kelly for all we know haha

my one and only bird is 14

Doodles is 9 next month :)

Hoping for many, many more years for all these wonderful friends.

Unfortunately not. I've only had him for a year.

Peanut and Popcorn, my two wild-caught Goffins are at least in their mid-40s. Have had them for 31 years; they were represented as being in the seller's custody for 12 years.

I've had Alice my Citron for 33 years, don't know much about her origin.

Gonzo, my BFA has the longest reign in my home at 34 years; believe he is mid to late 30s.

Baby is 32....had her since she was 3 months old.
Double yellow head amazon.....

Salty is an only. He will be 3 in June this year. Not a day goes by when this amazing creature does not put a smile on our faces, if not outright laughter. He is company for Geri during the day and my decompression buddy when I get home weekdays and my constant weekend commentator. Here's to ya, Lil chop mouth!

Impressive.. Very well done to the both of you.

All of my birds have uncertain pasts, so I have to guess how old they are based on what little I know about their past. I think Tango is now a little over 3 - and Baby, Bindi and Screamer are around 6. I should probably just choose approximate hatch dates for them :)
