I am waiting for baby to molt her flight feathers so I am wondering how often. They molt there flights ? I am wanting to start training her to fly to me on command but she doesn't even want to try since it is such hard work with clipped wings.

If you are talking about a first molt, usually when they are 8-10 months and the molt can take up to several months to complete...each bird is different, even within the same specie and/or clutch, so my conures might molt their feathers in faster or slower than yours.....it's a genetically controlled thing, not time controlled.....sorry.....

What you can do though, for future reference, is to keep track of when you notice the first loose feathers, often fluffies, and when it appears to have finished and you'll have a pretty good idea for next year.....but keep in mind that your conure has over 2,000 feathers to replace, including the fluffies.....

Forgot to answer your question...most birds molt once a year, usually before mating season starts, so that everybody's in their finery...though sometimes a bird will molt twice a year or go through what's referred to as a soft molt, where they can molt all year long...and since there's no way to determine how long a molt will last or its type ahead of time, you'll just have to wait & see how yours turns out.....
