Mishka honestly shocked me tonight during dinner.

Mishka sits on his playpen after eating his dinner, then we have our meal.
I offer Mishka little bits and pieces. When he eats on the playpen, he has a certain bar he must stand on and eat.

He did not want anything from me, and stepped off the playpen. I told him to get a yummy from Dee, Sean's girlfriend. He walked about 4 meters to where Dee was sitting, stop there staring at her. Dee offered Mishka a piece of chicken, and he took it. I told him you know where you eat your food, he immediately walked back to his playpen, dropped the chicken in the floor, climbed up, walked up to his eating bar and said clever boy.

Dee loved the part clever boy, I was amazed how he listened to me and knew exactly where to go eat.

Wow...that is amazing, Ant. He's so smart, it's scary.

That's pretty cool. When I tell Sam no. Like when's he's about to chew on something that he's not supposed too. He will listen. It amazes me too. And for treats he has to come to me. I never go to him unless he does a loop or something cute
I'd like a grey one day.

Did he eat the chicken? Just shows you how good a bird can be when they have an enriching home and guardian.

All our birds are smart...................each and every bird is so special

Must mention what was scary today.......
I was videoing Mishka, later walked into the kitchen to make coffee. I never said a word to Mishka. After the water boiled, I was stirring it, and Mishka said did you make coffee......................
Must find it and posted in on the forum tomorrow.

Yipe he eat the chicken, loves chicken pieces. From the first time on the playpen, he was taught where to stand and eat. I reckon training him, each day routinely had definitely paid off.

Sam is a clever bird, listening to you, and coming to you for treats....cute

All birds can be trained to do so many different things, it takes time and patience and lots of repetitiveness

Saphira will wait for her food standing next to her food bowl...but she bites at me when I go to open the door...I started to tell her no...be a good bird..and if I reach for the door And she does it again I step back and tell her no...do you want your breakfast? Step back. She'll look at me, turn around and walk away and stop and look back...I put her food in then she comes back. She knows she can't seem to stop herself from biting if she stays close...so she walks away!

Saphira is definitely an obedient bird, you have done a wonderful job training her. Keep it up.

When I give Mishka his dinner at night, he stands near the door, waits for me to place it in his bowl, then steps onto my hand, gives me a kiss on my lips, goes back into his cage, then gently nips my finger as a thank you gesture. I must try get this on video.

I love him & dont even know him! Its amazing what our birds understand. Last nite Merlin woke me up, he startled in his cage. I turned on the light & looked in his cage & he told me "bad bird". He had seen his reflection on his mirror that hangs outside his cage. For now on, this will be turned to where he cant see it @ nite. My poor boy had a nightmare.

Birds know so much more that what they are letting on believe me, take Merlin for example, bad boy, that is so cute........(in it's own way)
Look into the mirror and say good boy, then show it to him and again say good boy, soon he will latch on.
