How much time every day do you spend directly interacting and playing with your Macaw?

This does not include time spent feeding him or him being near you sitting on a perch or cleaning.

Honest answers please.

My macaw is with me directly 5-6 hours a day. If he's in his cage he's with something he can chew on and play with. Also I have a playstand by my computer so when I'm on it he's with me. Good luck with your macaw!

I can usually squeeze out about :45 minutes. After that I start getting the warning chomps. We wanna go back in our cage NOW! They are possibly a mating pair (madly in love for sure) and really prefer to ocupy their time together in the cage.

I'm going to post a video one day and show you what happens when I remove either bird from the others view.

My parrot Mishka gets up at with me at 4.Am, every morning.
Plays for about 30 minutes in her sleeping cage, then gets feed cereal.
She spends the day with me, as I am fortunate enough to work from home.
In our apartment, we can talk and hear each other very clearly.
On the weekends, Saturdays is her day, bathing her, playing and spoiling her.
I count my blessing each and every day, to spend such quality time with her.
She is also so keen to learn new words and sounds.
I REALLY AM BLESSED TO HAVE HER IN MY LIFE
Take care

I know what you mean Antoinette. They are all such darlings it is hard not to be giving them your undivided attention. I would guess when I am home I give my AG Timneh at least 50% of my day even though I do have other 4 legged critters. Parrots kinda have a way of getting into your heart and soul very quickly.

I try for at least 2 hours if not more. She is always out of cage when we are here.

On work days I spend only about two hours with them but on my days off they are out 12-14 hours. I do not have other activities so they spend my time with me.

I have 6 birds that all want to spend time with me I am lucky that they all get along pretty well. Darius my Harlequin and my baby Grey demand the most amount of time with me the others are happy to get their scritches and talking to when I walk past thier cages or playstands they are in the same room with me most of the time and they are all fully flighted to the can come and play when ever they want to I only work 3 nights a week from 5pm til 11pm so I have plenty of time with them they are out of their cages from 11 am til 10pm everyday Darus is in a different room along with my Severe Macaw due to haveing 2 Greys I worry about the dust. So I have to phyically go and get Darius and Jeepers to come and play everyday I do this 3 or 4 times a day for about an hour each time so I would say they get at least 3or4 hours of total one on one time everyday possibly more I love my birds they can come and play when ever they want many times I'm doing my house work with 2or3 birds on me they have learned to old on no matter what I doLOL
