How much food, how long does it last?

I am the owner of a new Blue-Headed Pionus Parrot. I feed her Tropican granules and I was wondering if it is ok to leave the remains in the bowl for the next day? I currently only put in enough for the day and will only add if needed. I bought a 4 lb. bag and at the rate she is eating, it will last for approximately 5-6 months. What quantity do you purchase and how long does it last for your Pionus Parrot?

For my African Grey Mishka I purchase his pellets in 500g's only. I store the pellets in a tupperware.
It lasts him approximately 2 to 3 months.
I place a few in his bowl each day, whatever is left over I throw away, which is hardly ever.
