1x Male Alexandrine Parrot
Im trying to find out how many nuts (raw/unsalted: almond, cashew, hazelnut, walnut, macadamia, brazil nut) is the right amount of nuts to feed a flighted 11mnth old male Alexandrine parrot.

Ive scoured the internet and only come up with 3 answers (6,9,5 nuts) from owners of Greys which was somewhat helpful, but id love some actual info on how many nuts I can safely feed an Alexandrine parrot daily.

Thanks in advance :)

It may be that you're the only one or one of the only people who have ever had this question.....but if you were to test your own question then post the information, the answer would be out there for the next person seeking that answer.....good luck.....

After reading all the (very little) research available, I decided today that I would set my Alex's limit at 5 nuts maximum per day; he already gets an almond at night when I cover him up so I dont feel so guilty lol and the other 4 nuts will be spread through out the day between treats, chopped up and mixed in with his pellets, and in his foraging toys. I set it at 5 nuts because hes quite a messy eater and I know that he dosnt actually eat much of what he crunches up, if he was a bird that sat down and meticulously ate every morsel of said nuts, then id probably cut it down to 3 or so.

Im pretty sure that if I gave him a whole bowl of cashews and pecans, he would eat them until he went pop so maybe hes not a good test subject lol.
