Cody-Blu, female Blue-Crowned Conure, Hatched - (approx) June 1, 2014, in a South Florida tree.

Pritti (Cherry-Head Conure) -- Fly in Peace my beautiful boy. Forever I'll love you.
For as long as I can remember, Pritti will not voluntarily approach or play with a new toy for a good 3 weeks. Around then, he'll usually start getting near it and "test" it. Then, if he likes it after a couple days of that, he'll start playing with it. But he seems to get pretty board with just about all toys after just a few minutes or so of playing with them, and then there are long gaps that he'll play with them. Basically, he abandons toys to go shredding and chewing fabric, rope toys, paper and cardboard items. So I've been giving him his favorite homemade shreddable toys and thick fresh string/rope toys. At this point, I wonder why I even buy all the dangling wood, plastic, etc. toys, except that it makes me feel like a good mom to keep trying. Pritti is a male cherry-head. :green1:

Buy or make the kind of toys ur bird likes. If they only want shredding toys then give them that. The things is u want them to play and if they don't play with th eother stuff then y waist the cage space on them. Try to make toys with all the things he loves on and try to add in some of the other stuff(wood, plastic) Combind all of the stuff on 1 toys and see if he will play with all of it that way?

I take my bird to the pet store and let him pick a new toy I make it a fun time holding the toy up and jangling it in front of him and seeing if he will grab for it sometimes he isn't interested and gets no toy others times jackpot a new toy and if he picks it at the store he will play/destroy it when he gets home.
