How early do GCC mature?

Geddy is acting older than I would think at the age I was told he was when I got him (1-2 months after weening).
He is giving me mating signals like crooning with his butt in the air if I get anywhere near his back or behind. He also had been rubbing his butt on my arm and is looking to snuggle in my elbow with his tail in the air.
He should be 4-5 months old at this time but if he is going thru some early hormone issues I am not sure what I should or should not be encouraging at this time.

Definitely sounds older, as many GCC's hit maturity at a year to two years old. Don't pet him below the neck and try to keep him sleeping on winter hours. Watch for any toys he might stimulate himself on and move them around.

If Geddy is still very persistent about mating with you, take a hands-off approach for a few days to a week for him to cool off. Get Geddy out and play, but don't touch except to maybe move him to playstand and things of that nature. Feeding warm foods may sometimes trigger this. My GCC Beau always gets the wrong impression when I feed him meds in a syringe or probiotic gel from syringe

You can get raspberry leaf at some groceries in the herbal section. Frontier brand has organic, if you can find it (something like WholeFoods probably carries it. my local healthy supermarket has it). You can make tea or feed as is - supposed to help with hormone balance. I've mixed it with Beau's wet food when he's gotten overly randy.

I was thinking the same exact thing. He sounds like a she. Have you had your GCC sexed?

Not necessarily, Green Cheeks or any gender will back up onto things or hump.
There's not an easy way to sex them without blood or feathers.

I have not had him sexed yet. Waiting on a few extra bucks to appear!
Even if he is a she this will be the sexiest female feathered rock n roll bass player in the world!
