Hi Everyone!!

I have really missed being on the forum! I can't believe I haven't posted hardly at all for so long! I have not had time for much else then family, my pets and my candy shop! Holidays are so super busy for me now. I am so busy from Christmas to Easter! I finally have a moment to breath and thought I would check in and give you a very long and past due update of what I've been up to. Sorry, but this is going to be a bit long! :09:
Like I said I have had no time for much and have not been on a single forum for months!

So, what I've been up to. Well, the candy shop is thriving, so much so we decided to add a kitchen to the shop. Currently I cook all my centers and such at home. Now I will be able to do it at work. Yay! The process has not been fun at all between permitting and the work that needs to be done to install this kitchen. But we are getting through it. We started the process in the beginning of the year and it took about 2 months just to get our waste water permit! Then it took forever to find a good plumber. But we have our plumber now and things are really starting to move. I hope the kitchen will be done sometime in June! That is part of the reason I haven't been on much. Between the shop being busy and dealing with the new kitchen, it's been crazy!

Ok, I know you really want to hear about my fids. They are all doing great! They survived our very cold winter weather! Here are some links to posts I've done on my blog for you to enjoy!

I finally went to Bird Paradise in Jersey! I know some of you may have heard of it. It's a ginormous bird store! I also met JerseyWendy for the first time while I was down there in January and we went to the shop together. Here are some pics:

We've also made the tough decision to give up our Linnies. They have become very hand shy and don't like hanging out with people much. I love interacting with my birds and we were hoping to avoid them becoming hand shy, but it just hasn't worked out. I adopted them for my kids and since they can't interact with them much, they have lost interest. So I found a great home this past week with someone who owns other Linnies. I think it's a great match. I hope to adopt another bird that is more interactive in the future. I'm just not one to own birds to watch play in their cage. I enjoy handling them.

I hope to not be MIA for so long again here on the forum! I will try to check in more often. For those of you that remember me, and even for those that don't, I hope you all enjoyed my post and thank you for taking the time to read it. I know it was long! LOL!

Hello Blanca, so nice to see you here! Thank you for the lovely update and great photos! I'm happy to hear your candy shop is still growing and busy as ever. Your birds look so happy, it always makes me smile to see photos of your Fids and family having fun.

Bella is as beautiful as her name implies. Hugs to you! Nice to have you back.

Hi Blanca! Good to see you back. I loved reading your update :). Congrats on getting the kitchen in the candy shop! The bird store in Jersey looks amazing, how fun. ...and the beautiful scenery as you commute to work!! I have no idea how to drive in the snow, but I'd love to see that!

I'm sorry the injury happened with Quincy, but glad you were able to get him fixed up :) and that he's feeling better now. I had a similar incident with Griffin (twice) this year when he went to visit Robin which is off limits. I know, no more! He now is lacking two toenails permanently. I'm glad Quincy is okay. It's scary when something like that happens!

See you 'round more often :).

Welcome back! I have also been gone, life is complicated. Anyways, I love your posts! They are so cute :D Bella is very beautiful congrats! And I really hope Quincy gets better! Poor little guy. How scary :( Thank goodness it was only a small booboo on his toe and thankfully he is getting better :)

Congratulations on the candy store. Your flock is beautiful, as is Bella.

Wow, that's a lot of snow in the winter wonderland photos. The last time it snowed here was about 1984, lol.

Great to hear from you, and love your pics. ♡♡♡
I bet you and Wendy had lots of fun. ;)

Hi Blanca!! It's so good to see you here! :D

So sorry to hear about Quincy's injury, OMG, that had to have been so scary. You know I've had equal scares with Ripley and Sam, right? I'm really lucky Sam hasn't lost his foot yet, as many times as he decides to 'pester' the big, red guy. :54: I know if he were to play those games with Niko, he wouldn't be so lucky. :11:

I LOOOOVE Bella!! :smile015: She truly came, won and conquered all your hearts in no time flat. :D

Sorry to hear about the Linnies. Were the kids ok with your decision?

Thanks RavensGryf! We are really excited about the new kitchen. Thanks for the congrats! We had a rough winter this year. Very cold! I have to say I was really glad to see it end! LOL! Sorry to hear about Griffin! You would think they would learn a lesson! LOL!

Thanks Kq-fan! Life can get complicated, can't it? LOL! Bella has been a total gift! :D We take Quincy back to the vet tomorrow so they can check his progress. I will keep everyone posted!

You know, I thought of Sam when it happened! LOL! Has he been behaving himself?

Bella sure did win our hearts! ;)

Yes, the kids are ok with it. They recognize that they spend no time with them. And they are really happy with the home we did find for the linnies. It won't be easy to say goodbye, but I think it is for the best.

Wlcome back! Glad to hear you and your flock (except poor Quincy!) are doing well. I bet with the excellent care Quincy is receiving he will be healed up and back to normal in no time though:) That's great that your business is doing so well too! Hope to see you around now that things have slowed down.

I so loved all of your links! Your drive to work is so picturesque and beautiful.
Love love love the stockings! So was that present for Coqui or did she just end up helping to open it?
What a great idea for Quincy's backpack/carrier!
I am so sorry to hear about Quincy's injury, how is he doing?

Thanks Terry! It's great to be back! ;) One of these days I will video tape my drive to work so you can see it. I love the beautiful country side out here!

No, those were presents for several people that we stuck under the tree early. She had fun checking them out. LOL!

Quincy is doing well. He really has adjusted to his collar well. His foot still is swollen a little. I take him in tomorrow for another check. I will keep everyone posted on how he does!

A video would be awesome! I can live vicariously through you:)
I'm glad that Quincy has adjusted to the collar. Hopefully the swelling will be gone soon and he will be back to normal.

Well I'm glad I'm not alone! LOL! ;) Life does get busy, doesn't it! I do love coming on here though and have missed it. Only people on bird forums really get how we all feel about our fids! I've made so many great friends here, it's nice to come on and see some familiar faces are still here!

So let's both try to visit more often. ;) Love the beach pic of Gilbert by the way. To precious! :D

I'm a newbie basically but originally from maine, and my brother graduated from New England culinary institute, so I'm familiar with that area!

My Chiqui came from bird paradise.
