Willow the Umbrella Cockatoo
Just thought I'd check in and say hello, been doing a lot of research over the last few weeks, looking to adopt a larger Cockatoo soon, hopefully picking up a bird a few hours away Sunday, assuming all goes well. (4yo Umbrella Cockatoo)

To a extent, I have an idea what I'm getting into. I've had smaller birds, although this will be my first parrot. But I'm a very stable person with a lot of time that I can dedicate to the bird, so I think with a lot of work I have an ideal home for a Too.

Looking forward to interacting with you all.

Hello and Welcome to the forum! Good luck with your new addition. You still have time for lots of research while you're waiting to bring home your Too. You may find some interesting info browsing through our cockatoo forum.

Welcome aboard!

I've always wondered if those birds keep you dry in the rain. haha. Sorry, couldn't resist. lol

Thank you...and I'm thinking not, lol

Whereabouts in Maine are ya?

Best of luck, hopefully your new friend is going to be well behaved. Umbrella cockatoos have a reputation of being a little bipolar and can go from being super playful to screaming at ya just like that. Odds are your cockatoo will own you and tell you what to do. They're definitely characters and are unlike most other parrots.

Well thanks.

I'm hoping for an energetic, yet behaved bird.

Yes, i want my cake AND to eat it too! lol

Cockatoos are great birds, send pictures when you got him okay :)

Will do, no doubt. I'd post the ones I have now but they all have the current owner's family members in them, and I'm sure they don't want their kids on the internet.
