I saw a treat made with honey on the shelf of a Petco recently. I was always under the impression that honey was bad for birds, wild and domestic. Am I misled or is this just a bad product being sold anyways? Needless to say, I didn't buy it but if it is safe for birds, have any of you given them to yours?

As long as it's in moderation it is ok to give a little bit but too much or too often. Too much sugar is never good.

I haven't tried them... but my birds have ;)
I occasionally give my Budgies a seed treat stick and I think they're honey flavor. When I used to have finches they got some too. Like Mikey said, too much sugar is never good of course, but since it is meant to be a treat and not food, it shouldn't be a problem. Besides, if it were a "bad" ingredient for birds, I don't think it would be on store shelves. I wouldn't worry, and try it if you'd like. Let us know how it tastes... :D

Okay, thanks for your feedback! I'd like to see what Arya thinks of them. :)
