Ok, wow. My mom just called me and told me that she got a call from my grandfather, that my grandmother has escaped the nursing home she's been at for the past few weeks!

She has suffered from a stroke and several seizures since May, and she has been in and out of the hospital/nursing homes. She's not in her right mind at all. Well, this last nursing home must be AWFULLY careless because she's out right now roaming the streets somewhere! And it's dark out, and not in a good neighborhood! Now, I don't see my grandmother at all, or even get along with her, but no one deserves to be neglected like this! This makes me sick.

My mom and grandfather are out right now looking around the area for her, and police have also been called and are trying to broadcast an alert. I really hope I get a call soon saying that they have found her safe, and not hit by a car or anything.

What's wrong with people?? Why wasn't anyone watching her??

Oh NO!! Definitely neglectful of the nursing home! I hope they find her healthy and safe. I am in MD so I guess it will be on the news. Poor lady, I bet she is scared.

Thank you! I just got a call from my mom, they found her. Well, someone did anyway, she didn't give me that much information. She just said she's at the hospital sitting next to her and that she is safe. What a crazy night! I'm glad she's safe! When I find out more, I'll post it here.

I bet she was scared. :( She is not in her right mind at all, she hallucinates and everything...

I am so glad that your grandmother has been found and is safe.
May this be a wake up call for the staff at the home where she is staying.

Elopement from a nursing home is no laughing matter. If she was not wearing an alarm she should be when she is back there.
It is such a good thing she was not injured or a victim of a crime.

Thank goodness they found her! I would give that nursing home a piece of my mind!

Thanks everyone. The thing is, she WAS wearing an ankle bracelet! I'm not sure how she got out. And the worse thing is, it happened twice! The first time they caught her in time, but it was the second time that she got away and the police needed to be called. I really don't like that she's still in there, but unfortunately, I have no control over the situation..

From the time in your first 2 posts it doesn't appear as though she was missing that long which is a good thing, glad that she was found and all is good :)
