Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...in his rudder  Last night when Amy fanned his rudder there was a HUGE hole lol..looks like three rudders right next to each other have fallen out. Luckily he doesn't fly or he wouldn't have any steering :p This is an intense molt!

Tail feathers are very important for flight, but as the US Airforce has proven, it is not always required. Julio flies extensively without Tail Feathers and sticks complex landings everyday.

Remember that BB's has very large flight surfaces and is lightweight, a combination that makes flight fairly easy even when missing several flight feathers.
