Hi, everyone! I'm a young bird owner from southern Idaho, and with owning three birds, I knew I could get help here, especially with the situation my Cockatiel is in.
Here's some pics of my babies.
Here's my first Parakeet, Harmony. Got her at Petsmart. Learned to never make that mistake again. (She's still not quite tame, which is why she's in the cage.)
Momiji-kun, who I bought at Parrots n' stuff, a proffesional parrot-breeding store in my location.
And last, but not least, this is our cockatiel, Big Bird. (Yes, he is named after the sesame street character.
We just got him today by some flaky motor-home family that was getting rid of him on Craigslist. He came with a pitifully small cage (Not even 1' by 1'! That thing isn't even fit for my keets!) that was caked with poo and rust, and not only that, but his wing was broken. Or, atleast, that's what we think. You might be able to tell by the odd angle he's holding it at. We already got him a vet appointment for tomorrow morning, but it sickens me anyone would just sell their bird because they didn't want to pay for the vet bill. I'm guessing they broke it when they were clipping his wings. He's also a feather plucker, as I can tell by the frayed ends of his flight and tail feathers and the unusual amounts of preening he does. But we're also buying him a bigger cage tomorrow when we're out, so he'll hopefully be better.
Anyway, I'm happy to be here! See you all around!
