Thought I would introduce myself I'm annette and I live in North Yorkshire with my ten horses (we breed and show miniature horses) four dogs, cat and our new Senegal Parrot who's called Sid and not forgetting my hubby.

Am hoping that I can get lot's of usefull advice of the forum.

Hi Annette,
we are "newbies" too, but I noticed that you raise and show miniature horses also and so had to post.

We are in the US Wisconsin to be more exact and we have had our minis for over ten years, showing and raising some little ones.
Though with our Wisconsin winters we have reduced our numbers this year from 22 to 14.

We are very interested in adding a conure to our home and have been trying to learn all we can about them and their care before we take the "leap".

Nice to see someone else out ther with the same interests.

Sid is about two years old and at the risk of getting shot down in flames he came from a pet shop, one I have to add where he was well looked after. Has had some handling as he will step up onto his stick and take food out of your hand. Will post some pics when I get them downloaded from the camera.

What's wrong with having him from a Pet Shop?

I think Ant was just enquiring because had her beautiful AG Mishka from a tiny baby. Mishka is one of the most clever and interesting birds I have ever seen. Check out "Our birds talking" to see her in action - she's absolutely hilarious!

Oh look now, Ant and Mishka will have such big heads they won't be able to come out of the door!!! hehe
