Hi everyone! My name is Lucy, I live near Portland, OR, must moved here from northern NY. I don't have any parrots yet, we have zebra finches lol, have been researching and will start my search after a trip back to NY in a couple weeks. I 'm leaning toward a African grey and would to find one that needs to be rehomed but would get a baby if I cant find one that would be a good fit for us. I'm a stay at home mom, we don't have any dogs or cats, we have little critters guinea pigs, degus, sugar gliders.
Growing up my mom raised canaries and had Indian ringnecks, rosellas, cockatiels, finches, parakeets, lovebirds and an abused Nanday conure. The guy she got him from, would drop kick his cage when he screamed, so he hated men and would dive bomb my dad and clip the top of dad 's ear if dad went in the bird room and he was out. One day he was sitting on my shoulder and he bit my top lip and just hung there and wouldn't let go. My mom had to get him to bite her so he'd let me go, which he adored my mom so that wasn't easy.Despite his issues he was a really cool bird.
