- Parent's have, I baby sit a blue crown conure.
My husband and I adopted a rescue blue and gold macaw.
Hello, I am part of the extended flock of my mom and dad's 3 year old blue crown conure, Sweet Pea. As I was growing up we had a mitred conure named, Pedro, (she ended up a female) who passed away at 28 years old.
My parents are 68 and 70 years old, but my dad missed Pedro too much not to have a conure in the house. While he doesn't understand English as much as a 28 year old parrot, he is learning and loves us all. My husband fell in love with Sweet Pea and sometimes he gets to visit our house for a weekend here or there. We visit him, and my parents frequently and plan to adopt him one day. We do not have any children, but we both work.
In the meantime, if we end up purchasing a home, and have enough time at home, we may adopt a birdie of our own, if it works out with us and Sweet Pea.
