My name is Carmen and I have 2 pineapple conures name QTPI (Quentin) and GJ (Glow). I grew up with finches, parakeets and cockatiels. Although I’m not a first time bird parent I am a first time pineapple conure parront . I’m excited to have stumbled on your platform and look forward to learning from all here.

If you font check your burds weight i recommend you start. A digital kitchen scale and set to grams. Once a week is great.

Since burds hide being sick. Knowing their weight and checking regularly will pick up weigh loss. Often the very first sign something is wrong. As they burn Xtra calories or eat less when sick. Catching problems early leads to great outcomes.
You go by % lost. Greater than 3% lost seek a veterinarian. More than 5% get to vet right away. Take weight lost divide by normal weight x 100 = % lost.
