I have a Severe Macaw named Jake who's about 11 years old or so. He's the product of a broken home and I got him from our local pet store. Jake's been my boyfriend since November 2005. He really dislikes men, and bit me like crazy when I first brought him home(not so much anymore). Jake is pretty much the funniest bird I've ever known, and I love him dearly. Now if I can just get him to stop pooping down my back!

Welcome to the forum. Years ago I thought I should try to potty train my conure. What I ended up with instead is a bird who says, "Poop!" after the fact, and who know thinks I really like poop. I know it can be done, but I sure messed up!

I know, I need to be careful. Usually when Jake poops on me, I'm like "Jake! Did you **** on me?" Fortunately he's not really predisposed to words, so I may be able to prevent that little phrase.

We've been working on "love you", and I do believe I heard him say it this morning just before he bit me on the nose. Gotta love the little nippers!
