Blue/gold macaw, double yellow headed amazon and rainbow lorikeets
I’m Kate! I have a double yellow headed amazon, Loopey, who has the run (flight) of the house!

I also have a blue/gold macaw who I found on craigslist a few years ago. Poor thing was in rough shape!

My other little guys are rainbow lorikeets and they are super fun and talk just as much as my amazon.

My favorite birds are amazons, particularly the double yellow head. I have also owned an african grey years ago.

I’m a stay at home mom to kids and animals! I also run my own business right outside my home, making and selling bird toys.

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome to the PF Family! I love the picture in your avatar, SO cute! :D

Welcome and be welcomed. Yur lookin' at the anti-parrot, when it comes to double yellow heads, who universally hate me on sight. And I love 'em, but get bitten every time. So whats the story with your bird toys?

Welcome to you, sounds like you have quite a flock!

Welcome to the PF Family! I love the picture in your avatar, SO cute! :D

Thank you! My avatar story is kinda the same as my bird toy story! I had a lady make my logo (avatar) for me digitally of two of my birds, Walter and Loopey. I asked her to make Walter dressed like my dad alway did, overalls and a hat.

My dad passed away several years ago from cancer. Before he died he told me to take all his wood working tools from his shop. He was a tractor repair man but dabbled in carpentry as well.

After he passed and I had all the stuff at my house I had a whole garage full of it. I really didn’t know what to do with it but felt I needed to use it. I eventually started making my own birds’ toys and perches so it jumped from there.

We both loved animals, I think he’d get a kick out of it for sure. From there it just kept expanding and now I have another workshop building outside my home where I make orders.

And amazons are definitely ‘strong willed’ birds! I have had two and both hated everyone but me. Loopey tolerates other people for sure but there’s not going to be any petting or picking up from other humans! He’s always happy and constantly talking or singing. Yesterday he was on a shelf he knows he was not supposed to be on and he told on himself.

I was walking by and would not have even noticed him there had it not been for him whispering, “That’s a bad bird, uh-huh a bad bird”.
LOL
