Parrots
I have 3 parrots I still don't know what kind they are
New to the site and happy to be here, I'm a bird lover although i don't know much about them yet, reason why I joined you guy is because I have 3 parrots but still don't know what kind are they and I was thinking that maybe some of you know about them and can help us to know so this way we can take care of them the best we can. We got a parrot yesterday because we fell in love with her we have been visiting her for weeks until yesterday that we decided to get her. We were told she is African but we don't believe it because she doesn't look like one, her beak is pink, I refer to it as a "she" because we were told is female and that it has 4 months, I am attaching the picture for you guys to share opinions we will appreciate it and thank you so much for accepting me in your community

Hi, and welcome to the site. I'm no expert on bird species, but know a good many of them. I am not seeing your pictures, unless I am missing something. I do know there are Lots of bird owners here that are able to help you and answer all of your questions.

I am also not seeing your pictures. There are many species of parrots from Africa, and I'm sure some have pink beaks.

Looking at those photos, Chichi is a Lovebird, and Pitungui & Pitunga are Pionus.

Aww finally, what should I feed her ? She isn't a parrot ? I feel cheated by the store then because she said she is a parrot, what you guys think we should do?

Lovebirds are parrots! Just very small ones:) Given their size, lovebirds do best with the food, toys and perches made for XS (extra small) birds (often packaged as supplies for budgies/parakeets). She should be fed pellets for XS birds along with fresh fruits and vegetables every day. Your pionus are "medium" parrots and should be fed pelleted diet for medium sized birds (often packaged as diets for conures) along with fresh fruits and vegetables every day. ALL your birds need toys and should be given size appropriate toys to play with. Occupied parrots are happy parrots:) They, of course, should also have daily human interaction and many parrots enjoy trick training.

Thank you all for the comments we will start doing all the recommendations. The lady at the store told us that she was four months old and that she is an African parrot that is a female because her beak is pink, we tried to find info on her but we never found a picture like her which made us doubt a lot but at the end we liked her so much we just got her yesterday, we will not give her back I was just concerned that maybe the lady at the store was lying to us or she exactly doesn't know what kind of parrot she was, but your info is very appreciated, she also explained to us she loves sunflower seeds and she does! and they feed her oranges which she also enjoys, my other parrots go crazy when I feed them tortillas or tomatoes is amazing I have so many videos of them but don't know yet if you guys post videos here I would love to share them they are amazing and I have had them since they hardly had any feather and fed them myself it was a lovely experience thanks to all for the comments and keep em coming !

Technically, she wasn't lying, as Lovebirds are an African species:

That said, there are many other types of African parrots too! Most larger than Lovebirds.

Your Pionus parrots however are a Mexican/South American species:

Pionus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is lots of good information out there on web now that you know the species of your parrots, and I would encourage you to seek out all the information you can about Pionus and Lovebird parrots!

I would caution not to feed too many Sunflower seeds to your parrots however, as they are very fatty and can lead to obesity and liver diseases in the future. Best to try and get them on a pelleted diet. I am unsure what brands are available in Honduras, but try to seek out some if you can!
