Hi!
I'm the proud parront of an Ekkie named Audi and yes, he is named after the car .
He's about 2.5 years old now, and we've had our ups and downs (downs being the expensive vet bills). But he is worth every cent, every ear-breaking scream, every bit of mess (grabbing a beakful of food and throwing it in the air just because it's fun). As I am typing this, he is trying to see how far up he can throw his food before gravity takes hold.
He is a passionfruit addict and if there's no passionfruit mixed in with his fruit and veg, I will receive a glare and his backside. Or him walking to his bowl, walking to the middle of the perch, give me a look that speaks a thousand words, him walking back to his bowl, looking in and walking away, and another glare. And so the cycle repeats until bless him, he gets what he wants. That's not to say he won't eat the rest of his fruit and veg, but it ain't no meal with no passionfruit.
People are always saying he smells nice... that would be due to the passionfruit
I'm thinking of adding a macaw into the family but that won't be until the end of this year/beginning of next year.
I've just got hold of the The Parrot Wizard's Guide to Well-Behaved Parrots. So I will be working through it with Audi... let's see how that goes!
Glad to be part of the forum!
