So, early this afternoon (Thurs), I was doing a little housework. The nosey, noisy know-it-all is sitting on the top of the door to the pantry in my kitchen. I take my Swiffer dry mop and spray some cleaner (non toxic) on it. I start wiping the upper part of the kitchen wall swaying it back and forth and it makes a little sound and Skittles decides to 'squeak' in unison. Then, I find there are some places the dirt isn't coming off easily. so I move the mop up and down in a 'scrubbing motion' with more pressure and you know what stinker does? He starts bobbing his head and body in unison with that.

Who does he think he is anyways? Showing off like that. What, he thinks hes a sun conure or something?

And, like all Great Parrots -- he believes that his actions are supporting and in fact helping you complete your appointed responsibilities! I hope you properly expressed your Thank You for his help! :D

Is this why my gcc conure struts back and forth while I use my electric tooth brush? Climbing from the sink to the cord in order to reach the hand towel rack, where she climbs to the top and enjoys her distraction from eating her breakfast while watching me? She is actually being my cheer-leader? So kind to think of me before eating. Normally when she sits on my head and sees an apple slice emerge from the frig, she inserts her beak into my eyelids to force me to expedite the process of giving her the favorite fruit.

So you've met my Sunny too! She knows what I'm supposed to do when, and if I'm within reach of her beak, she's gonna Help. If she can't reach, she directs me vocally until I get it right.

So, he is singing and dancing along. What else should he do when you are providing such entertaining entertainment?

Its just a change for him is all. I mean back before he decided my neighbor/friend was the 'devil in the flesh' (that is to say, before he stopped letting anyone else come into his..i mean, my apartment) he used to bob his head up and down in unison with her wagging her finger up and down. He also used to do the squeaking when I'd wash the windows (which I won't do with him out since he and the window had two close calls).

But for months, I dare say several years- he hasn't been like that. He's been all "you can't do that!" or "you're doing it wrong" or "hey, stop that!" or "put that back, now".

He's up to something, I tell you. Even this afternoon, he was doing his normal thing- making his way about the apartment doing his "daily inspection" which I still think is a riot. He's like a drug sniffing dog. I half expect him to be looking for a 'stash of treats' that he hid which I know he didn't since I pretty much always know where he is. Plus when he tries to be sneaky its just too telling. I can see it in his eyes, no joke.

Conures being conures! Regards to Skittles from his brother from another mother, Boomer!

Boomer's well, thanks for asking! Gets into mischief here and there, but what conure doesn't? Haha! Cheers to our little fellows. I hope they continue to be well and in good health.

Amen to that! Skittles is doing well too. His fecal gram stain was back to normal this year. Last year, they had me put him on pro-biotics cause he didn't enough of a variety of bacteria.

Only issue was his weight. He gained three grams and weighed in at 122g. Had to be the juice, but he's already looking thinner since I started diluting it. The vet wants me to get him down to at least 119g but no less than 115g.

The vet was surprised at how calm his heartrate was when she examined him as well as his lungs (he had flown around the room several times before I got him and gave him to her. His heart rate was 200 something.
