yes, i adopted him saturday, after seeing him four weeks ago and i just HAD to go back and get him ;-) we are working on changing the diet and hoping to make him all comfy and secure here....Any suggestions on curing his nekkedness? i'll do all i can to make him happy and comfy

OMG i'm in love! I'm so glad you went back for him. i was thinking about him after you posted your dilemma whether to get him! its obvious someone loved him once, the feather plucking is probably stress. i think you said his previous owner died? if thats true its probably grief and then change in home.
i'm sure with the right food and lots of love he'll be right as rain!

i think frank is very lucky to have you as his mom and salsa has a brother!!!!

good luck karrie, keep us updated on his progress xxxxxxx

I'm glad in this case the heart won out Karrie, thanks so much for adopting Frank :), the best diet you can give him and that he'll eat, plenty of warm showers, keeping in mind to keep him warm afterwards, keeping him entertained and preoccupied with both plenty of new toys rotated frequently, and personal interaction might take his attention away from plucking, from the angle of the video it was hard to see if he still has the follicles in tact, if you look among the bare areas and can see new feather growth then there may be a chance of Frank feathering out, if not you may have a forever naked baby, but as I always say, even nudists need love too ;)

Yay !!!!! So glad you followed your heart I'm sure things will work out great with him

Just remember quarentine and to keep giving salsa lots of love. He's still top bird so to speak

awwww thanks guys....salsa is my number one man that's FOR SURE :) (well my husband would frown on this but he can get over that, lol) since the time i was at the rescue and the day i picked frank up, no new birds came in so i did not quarantine....my vet also said that was probably OK, but frank went in and "donated blood" on Monday and his results just came back today and ALL IS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!..

I will get some better photos of Frank and his nakkedness, i DO see some fuzzies coming in in some spots, but i think his chest might be a lost cause? He doesn't like toys (yet) and hangs out on the play stand pretty much most of the day (we are currently building him a new one) and Salsa has become more of a snuggler now :) I hope i can be what these birds need in their life, i will try my best..

I bought some harrisons and both birds seem to like it OK....they are both loving fruit (veggies not so much) and frank LOVES almonds in the shell....Two VERY different personalities here, and both are awesome....thanks EVERYONE for your encouragement and HELP so far, i'll be needing more i am sure

OH my GOSH is he ever PRECIOUS!!! I"m super glad you followed your heart as well. I think the general consensus is the same, I think Frank is going to be a very happy bird once he gets all settled in. Congrats to you and Kudos to you for taking Frank into your loving home!

Awesome... I know Frank will be loved and well taken care of.

He is such a good taker...

I am so proud that your heart won out....

i can see why you went back~ he is wonderful! Good luck with your new friend, I hope he and salsa become quick friends!

Ahhh Karrie Frank is a wonderful boy! I am sure he will be soooo happy with you and he will forget all the sorrow and just be happy again.

Seems like you will have to take up dancing! One-two-chi-chi-cha-one-two.:D
