If you want any of these feel free.

Bourkes Parakeets

The bourkes are probably one of the most gentlest of the parakeet family. They don't bite which makes them ideal as a younger person bird. They don't play with many toys, but love swings ropes and ladders. They are not loud at all, but make a lovely little noise. Once they get older they are easy to sex, the male has a bright blue band of feathers just above the cere, and the female does not. They will often breed in their second year and have a clutch of about 4. There are several colour mutations about now.

Have just gone to take more pics of them for ya, as Charlie is always facing away. Will be back soon.

Charlie was playing silly devils and wouldn't have his picture taken. I'll try to find some more up so you can have your pick if you want them.

Rosellas

There are many Rosellas now, Golden Mantled, Mealy, Stanley, Pennants, Browns etc. They can be wonderful birds but do tend to become wild and agressive as they mature. They are active free-flying parakeets who make good use of any sp0ace available to them. Rosellas can be aggressive to other birds particularly other Rosellas, so only 1 pair is ideal for an aviary situation. Rosellas really enjoy bathing and will bathe daily in all weathers. They will normally start breeding when they reach the age of about 2 years old and will breed for many years sometimes into their twenties

Male Golden Mantle Rosella

The Golden Mantle Rosella is probably the most popular of the Rosella family, they are about 12 inches in lenght. These Rosellas will have an average clutch size of about 6 eggs and they can often rear two clutches a season. The male will assist in the rearing of the chicks but when the young leave the nest box the male will sometimes be so impatient to raise another clutch that he will start to be very intolerant of the first clutch.

These two love being sprayed with water and lots of it, but I've never witnessed them go into a bath or the water bowl to bathe.

Instead of going into a load of things about them I thought I'd post a site for you with lots of info on.

Red Rump Female.

Flynn15.jpg

Again a link that has lots of info.

http://www.singing-wings-aviary.com/redrumps.htm

They are very easy to sex, the female doesn't have the red rump, but the male does.

Hope this helps. Snag what ever you want, and you can do whatever to the pics.
