Thanks to JerseyWendy with her help on how to post pics from photo bucket..I'm trying to post a couple pics of Amy..

Jim

Geez I posted one of myself and cant figure out how to delete it! LMBO :54:
Well you'll get some pics of amy anyway!

Awww... it's clear you really love your Amy. She is a very pretty girl. How long have you had her again? I know you've mentioned it's been a long time.

Thanks Kiwibird..Yes Amy has been my buddy for 27 years. She is totally bonded to me. I got her when she was 16 weeks old and either my mom <r.i.p. mom> or myself were the only one's around to handle her.

now that my son lives with me,he isn't really interested with her coz she wont come to him,but he and Jonesy are getting along ok..but he just doesn't pay enough attention to either bird.

Recently I have been taking Amy back out with me for car rides <which she loves> and she really likes going into stores with me. As soon as she sees a new face she goes into her song and dance and the people just love her. :)

Jim

I want to see a picture of Amy in her helmet and leather jacket. ;)

Nice pictures :)

That sounds like both of mine... love the car. When they see someone they think interesting, they've got to do something to get that person to pay attention to them...

Birdman,

I have been going to my local NAPA auto parts store for 40 years and they know me well. The other day I went in with Amy,she was on my shoulder, and she slid down my arm to the counter while all the guys laughed..she then picked up a pen on the counter and threw it on the floor
They all got a big kick out of that lol.

When I was in California, and they let me do it, Sally's favorite thing was to sit on the handlebars of a grocery cart and get pushed around the store...

She is semi-trick trained, and one of her tricks is to take either a bill, or the card out of my wallet, and hand it to the store clerk.

She insisted on paying every time. Took it as her job.

We used to go through drive throughs, and she would take a bill out of my wallet, climb up my arm out the window, and hand the bill to the person in the window. Then come back inside...

:D That one was almost always good for a laugh. Only had one store clerk freak out in about ten years of doing it.

LOL, Jim, you've made your entire Photobucket public! :54: Don't worry, I didn't go through every single one of your pictures, but JUST in case there are pictures that aren't meant for...ahem...'everyone', you can make certain albums 'private'.

Here is one photo of you with Amy, and boy it's a sweet one! :D

Jim, in order for the picture to show up in your thread (any thread), just click on the IMG tab, copy it, and paste it directly into your reply. First you have to make the photo that you want to attach big, and then take it from there.

The highlighted in red part is what needs to be copied. :)

WOW...that is awesome! I would have loved to see that!

Yes it is weird on how some people freak out about birds. Last summer I was at my local Dunkin Donuts with Amy,and we were sitting with friends.
She was just perched on the railing of the back of a chair, munching on a plain donut minding her own business, and a friend heard a lady on her cell phone talking to someone going on about " a guy in here with a parrot" and she was upset
Some people...

Actually those people seem to be in the minority, rather than the majority. The feedback I've generally gotten has been overwhelmingly positive... I've been taking birds out with me for somewhere around 12-15 years now.

I've only gotten a few "majorly negative" reactions.

One was an obviously paranoid woman who threatened to sue me if she caught a disease from my parrot. (We were sitting OUTSIDE at Peet's coffee on that one.) SHE WAS CONVINCED I HAD EXPOSED HER TO SOME SORT OF PARROT FEVER, AND SHE WAS GOING TO DIE! ("Lady, the Coo-Coo's Nest is that way. Keep walking, you'll get there. Look for the man in white.)

Another was one of my daughter's classmates, who had an unfortunate experience with a dive bombing too once, that left her literally cowering and crying, at the sight of a parrot...

One (again outside at Starbucks) attractive 20-something who jumped up and started screaming that my bird was going to attack her. (Maggie, who was just sitting on my shoulder minding her own business at the time.)

And the aforementioned store clerk who mistook Sally bringing her a $20 bill for "That bird is coming to attack me."

Considering that for me, it's an almost daily occurrence for over a dozen years, or so, four negatives is actually nothing to worry about...

Wendy,

There are no pics in my bucket that would "embarrass" anyone! lol
