I think my little man is doing well first day of stick training [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dELwy5o9110]My 18 month old orange winged amazon bobby first day of stick training - YouTube[/ame]

I second this. Use tiny tiny treats. With any animal, you want to just give them enough to tease their taste buds.

But that was really good! Where did you get your clicker? I only have a larger one for dog training. Haha

Exactly. A teeny tiny treat such as a sunflower seed, piece of popcorn, pine nut. What is happening is he is losing interest between treats. You are on the right track though. :)

Outstanding that you discovered clicker training. I will agree to use smaller treats. Think one bite. If it requires two bites or a long pause between treats, its too big.

Its just a standered clicker and i just bought it from a pet shop it works wonder he likes a little bit of biscuit as a treat 2 days ago he snatched and growled when i put my hand near him to give him a treat or a snack but now he is doing brill he has stoped growling and stoped snatching and ill make the treats smaller as we progress im trusting him alot more and he is me and this was a bird that was scared to death of hands and scared of you putting your hands near him its amazing what this method of training can do for you and your bird i am over the moon with him and i will continue this method and see where we both go from there :)

its a standered clicker im sure you can get them from a local pet store or you closest vet practice for a higher price just any standard clicker will do the job hun as you can see by the video he is learning fast and this is a bird that was miss treated 2 days ago he hated me and now he is trusting me more its just getting him to the stage where he feels safe enough to step out of the cage and onto me but as i said about the clicker you can get one from you local pet store or youe local vets also you can get them from here
[ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=training+clicker]Amazon.co.uk: training clicker[/ame] the prices are cheap but they are good quality and they work hope i helped you out and thanks for watching the video :)

Good video, small treats will keep them interested! This actually reminds me - I wonder if clicker training could help with my amazon Kiwis aggression? She seems to get too excited and not know how to handle it, and she jumps on me and bites. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to use clicker training to reduce her aggression?
