Hemp Seeds

I have some Eclectus food that has them in it. was talking to an Aviary owner and brought this up and he said all the bagged hemp seed is baked first before being introduced into a mix.
he also said that he has heard that some breeders do use unbaked hemp seeds
to promote breeding. I wonder if there is any truth to this?

Hemp is a plant (seed) product that Humans and animals (including birds) have been using /eating for a very long time. On the Human side, Hemp was an early plant to be used to make our lives easier with a very wide cross-section of uses. Hemp usage has reduced greatly due to stronger /lighter products that has replaced it. That said, it is still activity used in many parts of the World. Parts of the plant including the seed has functioned as a food source for as long and is still used as noted as part of the Thread above.

The shock to near everyone is that the long used plant and seed covered above is as near alike as T-Rex and T-Rickeybird. The 'Hemp' product controlled by Governments and used for medical and/or recreational use has been highly hybrided. Both medical and/or recreational users would be very disappointed if they attempted to grow and/or purchase the original product for their use.

I would strongly not recommend including seed or plant parts of a current day hybrid Hemp plant as part of the diet of our Parrots.
