Green checked conure named Louie
So I have a green checked conure and he is my first bird I notice some black spots on his wing most on the ends of the feathers I feed him pellets vegetables and fruit every day so I'm wondering are the black spots bronzing or stress bars I think it is probably bronzing and he is around 1 years old thank you

If you post pictures it will be easier for us to tell. At about 1 year he is probably due for a molt and his feathers are just a little worn.

Looks like completely normal wear and tear :)

Okay thanks I was just worried because he is my first bird

yeah looks fine, they get a little ragged over time, his feathers will be back to iridescent soon.

It's always ok to ask. We all support each other here and we all have questions and have things to offer no matter if we have had birds 6 hours or 60 years :)

Well until 2 months ago I thought a bird would be fun but now he is my best buddy I get him out everyday and he just means the world to me so I'm happy to know that there are other people just like me who love and care for their birds just as much as I do so thank them you for responding to my post and helping me out it means a lot to me thank you.

I hope you stick around. We all feel very passionately about our birds around here!

Look great. Pickles does not have a preening buddy, so guess who has been elected? When the sheaths are not sensitive, I break them towards the top and slowly work them out. She lets me know right away if there is one she doesn't want messed with. Her tail feathers are so faded you can almost see through them. But she have a new batch coming in.
