Ok so I'm new to this forum, but it seems like the best place to get answers. So last week we adopted a 12 year old male greenwing from a bird rescue. He had a woman owner who passed and went to her sons who abused him by chasing him with a broom and a stick. Needless to say the poor guy is basically bald now:( anyways he then went to the rescue and was doing pretty well. The problem I am facing is that he really has taken to my 8 year old daughter and she hasn't even handled him or anything. Whenever she is not around I can handle him and he will gently nibble on me and let me pet him, but the second she comes near he attacks me and bites really hard. I think it's great he is fond of her but she's not old enough to be his primary caretaker. When he bites me I wrap him in a blanket and put him back in his cage. I just don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?
