hi, im on the waiting list to get a baby Eclectus hen and I'm so excited but i've been told off a few people not to get one because they can be very aggressive and that if i have males in my house ie: my dad and brother that she will bond with them over me. Is any of that true?
I have a lot of experience with parrots and i've done lots of research on eclectus but just a tad worried. please help? :red1:

Every parrot is different, and a lot of it depends on how she is raised. It's not a hard and fast rule. :)

I have a female Eclectus and she gets along fine with males and females. Hubby and 4 sons have the same loving, playful relationship with her as I do.

As Remy said, every bird is different. Don't panic yet! :) I have a female eclectus and she is most bonded to me, but will happily sit with my partner as well. I think she likes girls more lol :)

Every bird is different but I wouldn't stress out. Ekkies in the wild live in large social flocks. They are one of the few parrots that aren't monogamous. They will breed with multiple birds in the flock and don't bond to just one bird. They are a community bird, where cousins, brothers, aunts, uncles will all help raise each other's chicks. They are known to be more of a family bird, they usually don't have such a strong preference for one member of the house to the point that they wont go to others. This comes from how they live socially in the wild. Ours follows the typical Ekkie trait and doesn't show preference between us.
