Alexandrine Parakeet Leutino
I live in Northern Thailand and recently purchased my first bird; an Alexandrine Parakeet Lutino. The breeder was not so clear on the exact age of the bird and I was wondering if someone could give me an estimate (+/- 1 week?) based on these photos.

We call her Jaanu, which is Hindi for Sweetheart/Beloved. Lovely bird. I am thining she is about 9 weeks old, based on various photos on the internet. When should I expect her to wean? Then I can shift to fruits and seeds, right?

Hi there, and a warm welcome to the forums. :) I moved your thread to the Alexandrine section for you.

BEAUTIFUL baby!! And what a pretty name Jaanu is!!

I honestly think he's younger than 9 weeks. Looking at his feathers, my guess is 6-7 weeks at best.

How many times a day are you feeding him? You can start offering fresh fruits and veggies now, but he will still need to be handfed for quite a while longer. :)

Hello and welcome! Your baby is precious!
My friend is just finishing feeding out 2 baby alexes, and I asked her to take a look at yours. She thinks yours is much younger, perhaps between 4 and 5 weeks old.
Here is one of hers, he was born Feb. 1, so is between 9 and 10 weeks old. She took these pictures this morning.
