Hello all, I am new to this fourm and I am very glad to now be a pert of it!:)

I joined this form because I have some questions regarding a new aviary I am going to make. I currently have many different types of birds in different cages. My plan is to make an aviary and have all the birds together. So I need to know which of these birds can coexist (the list of birds is below). The size of the aviary is the following:

Width: 3.01 ft
Height: 9.74 ft
Length: 5.83 ft

or

Width: 92 cm
Height: 297 cm
Length: 178 cm

List of Birds:
4 Cocktails
1 Amazon Parrot
2 Budgies
2 Love Birds
2 Ring Necks
2 Mandarin Finches
2 Bengalese Finches
2 Gouldian finch
1 Canary

Note: The amazon parrot is really aggressive, all the other birds have normal behavior.

Thank you in advanced!

I would not house any of your parrots with your finches/canary. Even the small parrots, with their hooked beaks, can harm an aviary bird. Depending if they get along, you would probably be able to house your finches and canary together.

And since you mentioned, you might want to check out/post in the amazon section of the forum about your aggressive amazon. No need to have an aggressive bird, amazons make GREAT companions with proper training and socialization:)

What about keeping all of my parrots together, without the finches and the canary?
About the parrot, I try my best to tame him... It is still work in progress...:):) Thanks for the help!

I don't think that aviary is going to be big enough for more than a few of them at 3x5, even if it is rather tall, especially if they are all flighted. Which ones actually get along with each other? Without knowing that I don't think anyone can really answer you very well. :)

Edit: Years ago I had an aviary that was 5ft wide by 12ft long by 10ft tall and we housed quite a flock of budgies in there--before the aviary they were living free in a room. I think we had ten or twelve, all flighted. Plenty of room for them since they were tiny and all got along. But when you add in more and bigger birds... They all have to have their space. I don't really have any advice for you, however, other than that. I have never tried to keep birds together that weren't introduced one at a time or that were different species. (I had a cockatiel too, but he lived in a cage.)

While I don't have personal experience with an aviary, I can tell you what I see every year at the county fair...

They have an aviary judging contest where guests can look at a row of 10 or 15 aviaries (not sure of dimensions) and write down the cage number you like best and submit it. Anyway, they are always cages of mixed species... The ones that contain hookbills (parrots or parakeets) are budgies, cockatiels, and lovebirds. I think lovebirds might be more aggressive, but I know I have seen many times a few Cockatiels and Budgies in a mixed aviary with Quails, doves, finches.
