I came home today and found my bird on her other perch. He other one was on the bottom of her cage. She has a large metal cage for Macaws. She damaged the left side of her eye and her beak is cracked clear up side of her jaw. What to do??? The bleeding is stopped. I am new to this website so please be patient with me...Please I need advice

The eye is very important to see a vet about! The beak depending on how bad it is and where it cracked, it can either grow back on it's own or it will need to be repaired by a vet. So please do take your baby to see a vet!

Do you have a regular avian vet you take her to? I would also recommend that she see one. I am hoping that it turns out to not be too serious, but better safe than sorry:)

I just got her around 2 months ago, my husband said her beak isn't broke but her one side is split where she would open her beak, that corner. The vet is aver 2 hours away. I had her out on the bed, I gave her some fruit crushed up and some water on a spoon, she took it. I can't take her tonight and I work tomorrow. I am hoping with a little time and rest ad giving her some baby food and water, crushed up fruit will help...

Eye injuries are pretty serious (even in humans) and you risk her losing her eyesight and/or eye if it's not treated.

2 hours is certainly VERY doable. I truly hope you have taken the time to take your baby to the vet.

An untreated injury could easily result in an infection....and worse. :(

Where are you located, people here msy know of a good avian vet closer....

Agreed - even if it were further away, I'd recommend getting her to a vet. Birds, even big ones, are delicate creatures and she may have suffered other injuries that you can't see yet. And the eye, would certainly need treatment to prevent further damage.

Good luck!

Sounds like a trip to the vet is the safest bet. When my macaw falls and hurts herself, if the injury is minor, I always just hold her and comfort her. It will calm her down in a jiffy
