Parrots
Pineapple green cheek conure
Please help! I thought beans would be great to add into my chop, so I cleaned them with vinegar and water then offered a bit to Tilly to try. I then Googled it and everywhere says raw beans can be toxic to parrots! So I immediately grabbed it from her but she'd already eaten some! So now I'm panicking. I'm just going to cook them for us for dinner now, but what do I look out for? I'm so upset, I remember someone saying beans were safe!
Please tell me how worried I should be, because I'm freaking out!!

French green beans are ok raw. I feed mine green beans all the time.

Pinto are the most dangerous raw and uncooked i think. All dry beans have to be soaked and cooked to be safe.

Thank you so much for your speedy replies! I was watching her like a hawk & all is well. 💜Are they for sure safe? If anyone finds any information to support this-please send it my way!
Again, thank you everyone.

My flock on nine eats green beans nearly everyday in their chop, don't worry :giggle:
