Hi I hope someone here can help me !! I have been looking for a African get for weeks now ! I found a web page last night called africangreykingdom.com they are super cheap and the cages they sell are really reasonable it sounds almost to good to be true !! Does anyone here know anything about them ? Or has anyone here bought from them ?

th_hello.gif
and welcome to the forum:)

Sorry, but I cant help with your question as I am in the UK.

I would say though that if they are selling them cheap with Cages then you need to beware, as adverts like this are normally scams!

It won't even pull the website up when I tried. Its probably a scam, I ran across someone I thought was a scam and offered to come pick them up in person and they then changed their story so beware of them.

when i googled it it came up as parrot kingdom, is that it?

I don't trust that....if they don't have a proper address or website. Sad to see there are so many innocent victims fallen into such scams

Interesting, seems the risk is on them . The parrots are COD as well as the shipping charges. The website explains in detail why they sell so cheap. Sounds plausible. It doesn't cost them anything to raise them (super cheap labor rates) they have no over head.... Apparently the flocks of CAG are a nuisance in the congo. They ship the bird in the cage you buy.

Cages

Depending on the order/reservation process. as it stands now. Personally I'd throw the dice. Ha! I really do like the cages..... except.. I mean, c'mon honey what's one more pet in the grand scheme of things.....???

Edit: FWIW how in the hay do they have 4300 facebook likes?

THe shipping escrow might be where something hinky is hiding. COD is COD and there is a - or might be a contradiction here:

How it works:
After your reservation, we will do a
shipping reservation and send the
details to you. You contact the
shipping company and pay the
shipping fee and then pay parrot COD using your preferred payment
method.

The shipping company will then
pickup your parrot and deliver to
your home. You have up to 10
days to confirm with the shipping
company that the parrots is in good
health and is exactly the parrot your
bought.
After your confirmation, the shipping
will then release the funds to our
account.
For more details on how the
shipping company does her escrow
services, contact us

Uh yeah , they are playing with words. It looks like, They (AfricanGreyKingdom) gets your cash from the "shipper" when AfricanGreyKingdom delivers the Parrot to shipping company picking it up. Not legit. might be fun to mess with them. Everybody should start ordering flocks at a time, then cancel

It sounds like this may be illegal poaching of wild parrots. If so, I would NEVER consider buying from them. If you do, you will be supporting the capture and mishandling of wild birds, which leads to scores of deaths. I also understand that local legal authorities in Africa are working with representatives of the World Parrot Trust to shut down these operations and seize poached parrots, rehabilitate them, and release them back into the wild. If that were to happen here, you'd probably lose all of your money. Check out World Parrot Trust, World Parrot Trust - Saving Parrots Worldwide., for more information. There are tons of reputable, domestic breeders and adoptable birds needing new homes, which should be the source for your new birds.

I also tried to pull the site up with no luck. It gave me a lot of other sites for AG parrots but not the one you are talking about. Sorry but it sounds like it might be a scam........beware! If it sounds too good to be true it usually is............ Good luck!

I am intrigued in the scam itself now. Seems like there is a strong possibility that it might just be legit if you read everything in the website. Albeit poorly written, however given the storyline of the supposed owners.. hmmmmm could pay through PayPal to an email address and simply dispute the money should the parrot(s) not arrive. (in as little as 48hrs?? what?

I mean what if? the cages alone even if they were half or poor quality of those seen in pet shops. I'm thinking container load and go into business.

About Available Parrots: From 3 months to 15 months old African Grey Parrots for Sale. Very
socialized, hand fed, tame, vet checked and micro chipped. (see price list and pictures below)
Shipped with health and medical certificates from our vet. DNA sexed unrelated male/female. Great
talkers with much vocabulary.
They whistle, sing and respond to voice commands. We have 311 parrots as of March 04, 2013,
ready for their new homes. We do breed only African grey parrots!
Price List per parrot (without shipping fee):

Here is their story:

(1) Cost of living in Congo:
Do you know the average cost of living per day is Congo is less than $1 and with
$3, a family of 5 can have dinner in a good quality restaurant?

(2) Value of African greys in Congo:
Did you know that Congo African grey parrots are just like farm chickens in the
back yard? Here in Congo, the greys have almost no value except to people like
us who know what the worth in Europe and the Americas.

(3) Cost of breeding a grey in Congo:
The cost of breeding a Congo African grey for 6 months is average $50. It makes
a lot of profit for us to profit $250 per parrot. We are making average $25,000
every 3 months, that is $6,500 per month.

(4) Value of $ in Congo:
Did you know that a qualified medical practitioner does not earn up to $600 a
month here in Congo. To rent a home with 4 bed rooms, a living room and kitchen
is average $75 per month.

(5) Our philosophy:
Although the parrots have made us millionaires here in Congo, our goal is not to
become multi-millionaires, but to help parrot lovers own parrots without filing for
bankruptcy their bank accounts.

Have you thought about adopting a homeless bird from a Rescue? There are thousands (probably tens of thousands) of African Grays, and you'll usually know more abou them then you'll know from buying an internet bird.

Clyounger & Disco Duck, it is a scam.....the giveaway is that live animals shipped into Canada, the U.S. and all European countries require a period of quarantine before they could be delivered to you, so no shipping company is going to deliver any animal...OR...bird to your door. Any deposits you send them is as good as if you took the money and burned it.....it is gone...no questions asked...GONE.....

If that's not enough warning, you cannot reserve an air cargo flight reservation, have all of the export paperwork cleared & apply for and receive import documentation/authorization (delivered to your licensed import broker) within their 48 hour time period...AND...still have time for the bird to be loaded onto a plane (from the originating airport), fly to (let's say New York City), clear customs and be delivered into the U.S. Department of Agriculture quarantine facility, withing their 48 hour minimum time frame...it CANNOT be done.....

I have been in the construction business for over 30 years and have shipped equipment & materials into and out of over 25 countries in that time. If you really believe what this website is saying, call up any international airlines, ask for their animal shipment coordinator & ask them what the procedures & time frames would be for getting a bird delivered to you.....

It's a scam ! ! !

Scam. Buy from a reputable place. When buying from a breeder it's best to go see the birds and the conditions they were raised in. For cages, toys, etc. Buy from places such as petco. You can get promo codes and watch for sales.

Definitely a scam. You can't even import cags to many countries now anyway.

I came across a similar ad a few years ago and checked with shipping companies who confirmed that it is a scam. They said shipping costs for a bird are way more expensive, and shipping from the Congo is illegal. Also, if the "seller" is from Cameroon that is a big red flag! I wish I would have saved the email. When I started asking questions, the seller got very argumentative and threatened to sue me. I would stay away and find a local bird, perhaps from a Grey rescue. I placed an ad on Craigslist that I was looking for an African Grey and got a response from someone who had to rehome their Grey. I went to meet him and have had him for 4 years now. He is perfect and the transition to my home was smooth. He is not neurotic, never plucked his feathers, and talks up a storm. There are many birds that need homes. Check with your vet and also pet stores or bird stores. They often know about birds whose owners are trying to rehome them. Good luck!

100% SCAM! Here is their FB page https://www.facebook.com/healthcareer.in
It says nothing about them and has not been updated in years. Additionally it does not allow anyone to post comments about their service. People like this are scum!

I ask that everyone here go to their FB page and report them as scam! Please do this so others do not get sucked in!
